| A Letter from Our Superintendent | |||
Each and every clergy person in this district is a reminder to me of the extravagant love and grace of God to call those who are willing to serve Him at all costs. Sometimes we miss the mark, and yet, He continues to call us. I pray that this page will serve as a daily reminder to you, “my fellow trench partners,” that you are not alone. Indeed, I am praying for you as together we seek to ‘equip the saints to do the work of ministry’ alongside us…I pray for you because I know you are on the frontline. Each and every lay person in this district is a reminder to me that God is still preparing the hearts of His people, ordinary people, to be servant leaders on this battlefield of life. Many of you actually teach us, as clergy, how to serve by your acts of service toward us and the world at large. Together we have been planted in the SOKC District of the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church for a reason—to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. I know you’ll agree that our world truly needs the transforming power of the Risen Christ. And even though most of us will not serve outside the bounds of this district, if we serve where we can, then God is glorified. To anyone who just visits our site—we welcome you to become engaged with us as we seek to be faithful to the journey to which we have been called. And, if we can share an encouraging word or deed with you…stop by one of our churches and there you will meet the Risen Christ..ready and waiting just for YOU!!! Grace & Peace, Frankye |
